Krista's SURPRISE 30th New York party

I've been painting..cutting...glueing...designing...etc for the past several weeks to get ready to surprise my sister, Krista, for her 30th bday which is in a few weeks! I decided to go with a New York themed party...and titled it "Upper East Side Chic". She was totally surprised! A huge success! She had friends drive in from Arkansas and Georgia to KC where her party was!! Plus alot of friends and family from KC went! Several out of town friends were trying to make it..but couldn't come..totally understandable!!

Krista's sweet friend, Melodie helped me set up the party while everyone else was at church. And our wonderful new friends Chad and Michelle let us invade their house for the party! A HUGE THANK YOU to all of them!!!!!!!!! :)

Jessica from http://www.penandpaperflowers.blogspot.com/ made the cupcake toppers! I used them on the silverware also! They turned out sooo awesome! THANKS JESSICA! They were perfect! We LOVED them!!!!

I made the New York backdrop (along with my husbands help - he cut it out!!!)...to be her headboard after the party! It will look awesome against her red walls and black and white bedding!!

I made the "fake cake" so I wouldn't have to drive 7 hours with a huge cake on my lap! lol Instead I rode that long with a box of cake pops on my lap! hehehehe The things you do for your sister's party! LOL

Dad's Cheese Tasting Retirement Party!

I haven't blogged in a couple of weeks...shame on me! :) I have been busy painting orders from the festival still AND getting ready for my dad's retirement party and throwing my sister a SURPRISE 30th birthday party all in the same weekend. We drove to KC with cakepops on my lap - 7 hours away! Crazy!! :)

We had my dad's Cheese Tasting Retirement party on Saturday and then after church on Sunday had my sister's New York "Upper East Side Chic" party!!! VERY BUSY WEEKEND!!! Here are some pics of my dad's party first...then I'll post pics of Krista's party!

Katelyn as a gorgeous Peacock!! :)

Katelyn was a pretty little peacock! :) I made her tutu bustle...and we found a spray of beads at Hobby Lobby in the same colors! I added a few peacock feathers....and her sisters mask! She looked so cute! I'm going to do a photo shoot with her later...didn't have time to do more this week! These were all the pics I managed to get!

It's hard to see in these pics..but she has her hair in pigtails with a peacock spray on each pigtail. It's behind the face mask... She won the prize at the fall party for the most creative!

Ashlyn as the MAD HATTER

Ashlyn decided to be the Mad Hatter this year! It was fun to create her costume! We made the whole outfit out of stuff we had at home...or borrowed from her Aunt, Cousin and Grandma! :) My hubby made her thread sash!!! She looked so cute! We are having a birthday party (wonderland theme) in Dec...so she is going to get to wear it again!! :)

Her hat was made out of a red/white blue hat that her Grandpa had...I stuffed foam inside to make it stiff..and wrapped black fabric and black lace around it. :)

She made such an adorable Mad Hatter!!!! :)

Halloween Tablescape

I haven't posted in awhile...been busy painting orders...and getting ready for Hallween! I love decorating for Holidays! I have too much fun! LOL This year I decorated my Mother in law's dining room! I think the chocolate covered strawberries were my favorite thing! Although...the rice krispy pumpkins and ghosts were fun to make too!

Pumpkin peppers.....

These were fettucini mummies...but they didn't turn out like they were supposed too... :)

Mummy drinks...and mummy potatoes on the Shepards Pie! Katelyn made the yarn ghosts for each place setting. She loves doing that!
